PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Overview: KTC is
an established
contracting company
based in Tripoli and
working in the
construction sector all
over Lebanon with a
specialization in steel
works and welding
services. Our general
manager Toufik Khazma
has over 25 years of
experience in the field
in GCC area where he
helped in the making of
mega projects in the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
(KSA). Mr. Khazma is
also a passionate
community member, and
his company is dedicated
into giving back to the
community especially the
underprivileged, by
providing them with the
means to provide to
themselves and their
families.
Training phases:
In order to maximize the
learning experience of
the participants, a
class of 10 students
will be trained by our
skilled teachers, each
month will graduation 10
students; the program
will span for 8 months
so total of 80 student
will graduate. Our
company have graduated
many students Both male
and female so we welcome
to the idea (the
inclusion of 5 female
trainees). The students
will attend 6 days a
week for 5 hours a day
for a minimum of 125
hours of training per
month. The training will
start with a 1-day
session of first aid
essentials given by a
certified professional
followed by a 1-day
session of fire hazards
in the work site and
extinguishing techniques
given by a certified
professional. A 4-day
theoretical session
about all necessary
information concerning
welding. The session
will be held in a
classroom using videos
and booklets. Finally, a
20-day practical
training on welding will
be held in the factory
where the students will
learn all about welding
(all positions on plate
and pipe).
Location: The
training will take place
at KTC factory and
offices located at Al
Raes Maska industrial
quarter. The factory
will be equipped with
cubicles for student
training, proper exhaust
and ventilation system,
and fire suppression
gear(extinguishers).
Adherence measures
Against Covid 19: We
will make the proper
precautions against
Covid 19 by providing
enough space between
students during
theoretical and
practical sessions.
Furth due we will
provide sanitizers,
masks and gloves to the
students during both
theoretical and
practical classes.
Training team:
The training staff
comprises the project
manager, assistant and 3
certified welders with
minimum 15 years of
experience in the field.
The programme will also
use the IRI as a third
party company for x-ray
testing and end of
training certifications.
Training provider
obligations:
- Supply of qualified
training staff. - Supply
of adequate equipped
training premise. -
Supply of all required
gear necessary for the
purpose of the training
(Grinder, welding
machines, masks for
welding, electrode
necessary for welding
Bohler 7018, steel
sections for welding
-plates and pipes- and
other hand and electric
tools). - Supply of
full safety gear and
overall clothes for all
trainees. - Supply
transportation for all
trainees to the training
facility. - Supply of a
lunch meal for all
trainees. - Supply the
electricity, generator
and fuel necessary of
the power generation of
the training facility. -
Supply of an insurance
policy to cover
accidents in the
training facility.
Training phases:
Introduction to the
course. Safety
instructions and safety
gear handling (gloves,
googles, safety belt,
safety boot, etc..).
First aid instructions.
Fire hazards
instructions.
Introduction to welding
machine and its electric
cables, techniques of
rising and lowering
temperature, etc.. Teach
the students how to hold
the welding clamp in all
positions and the hand
movement without
electricity. Teach the
students how to weld on
plate in all positions
using 6013 electrodes
for beginners. Teach the
students how to weld on
pipe in all positions
using 6013 electrodes
for beginners. Teach the
students how to weld on
plate in all positions
using 7018 electrodes
for beginners. Teach the
students how to weld on
pipe in all positions
using 7018 electrodes
for beginners. Teach the
students how to clean
welds from powder using
electrical grinder and
wire brush. Teach the
students about the
testing of welds using
the x-ray technique. At
the end of the training
period the students will
be examined in front of
a committee sent from
the IRI . The student
shall weld in different
positions on plate and
pipe and the welds shall
be tested using x-ray.
In case the student
fails he will be taught
again until satisfactory
results are attained.
Once the student x-ray
passes he will be given
an international welding
certificate from the IRI
( including the
positions 1G, 2G, 3G,
4G, 5G and 6G.
